There is life there but here as well
and yet we pass through today
with things unnoticed, regretting
and longing for things
past the time when they once mattered.
Here is what you only have, not there.
No chance now for that friendship.
They are there,
doing their own thing,
getting on with life.
There the sun might be shining
But you can see the stars here now.
And you can walk
under the flickering light
the sound of thunder
and the million breaking raindrops.
Things can go on without you
only realize it now it won’t wait for you
if you don’t jump on it now.
